Please note:

  • Police dogs must be tested to verify they will actually bite someone that is not wearing a sleeve or body suit. It's no secret that many dogs that are trained on equipment will not bite a person without a sleeve on. The vast majority of Schutzhund dogs fall into this category. Police dogs need to be proofed to verify that they will actually bite when the need arises. Simply putting a hidden sleeve on will not solve the problem, but it certainly is a necessary part of the solution. Additional defensive training with a good helper, and the proper equipment is what's needed for these dogs. If you have to do this work, good quality equipment is a must. Make sure that you work on leash with a good handler. This is dangerous work, it's not work for the faint of heart.
